The Romans militarily attacked the muslims? Really? When did that happen? Tabukh was a byzantine city wasn't it? That was your first claim. Then you state that the people under byzantine rule asked the muslims to liberate them! Hmmmm, now what did actually happen? ;-) Ozzy, ozzy ;-)

Ibn Kathir doesn't say "because they aggressed against the muslims". This is something you made up ozzy. This is what Ibn Kathir says:
"Fighting the Jews and Christians is legislated because They are Idolators and Disbelievers
Allah the Exalted encourages the believers to fight the polytheists, disbelieving Jews and Christians, who uttered this terrible statement and utter lies against Allah, the Exalted..."
